The purpose of the course is to introduce the laboratory practice, providing information on safety rules, the proper handling of reagents and solvents, and notes on the legislation regulating this issue. It also provides the basic knowledge to perform, with the appropriate glassware and simple instruments, qualitative analyzes of inorganic and organometallic molecules.The knowledge acquired during the practical exercises allow the student to understand the basic principles of chemistry .

The course Chimica Generale inorganica-Stechiometria is required to access the exam but not for the frequency.

Lectures (1.5 CFU) and laboratory to individual places (1.5 CFU). Slides of lectures and study materials provided by the teacher (in the virtual classroom set up on e-learning platform Moodle)
Teaching tools: video projector, PC, overhead projector, e-learning platform Moodle, instrumentation and equipment for the performance of laboratory exercises to individual places.

The final exam consists of a written examination designed to measure the knowledge of the matter. There are checks during the lab exercises. The final mark takes into account the evaluation of written test and that of laboratory exercises.

Behavior in the laboratory: introduction to the rules of safety.
Calls on acid-base reactions, buffer solutions, acid cation, anfoterism of hydroxides, hydrolysis of salts, complexation reactions, precipitation, redox. Measurement units. Saturated solutions, common-ion effect, effect salt.
Introduction to laboratory practice: laboratory glassware, centrifuges; techniques and basic operations: precipitation, centrifugation, filtration.
Qualitative analysis: Test Shard, flame test.
Inorganic qualitative analysis: Activities toxicological, identification and recognition of anions and cations that are part of drugs used in therapy and reported in the Official Pharmacopoeia. Systematic analysis of anions. Introduction to quantitative analysis. Scales and equipment for volumetric analysis. Preparation of known titre solutions and use of volumetric equipment.
